Early morning stillness, surrounded by beauty invites a contemplative stance.
Traversing through the town on cobblestone streets with ancient stonework architecture is like stepping back in time.
Mystical evenings will leave us with a deep sense of gratitude.
The Basilica of St. Clare overlooking the valley is captivating day and night, inside and out
Assisi is a hilltop village with many points of interest at both the top, bottom and sides of the village. We will be walking up and down the hills of Assisi and the surrounding areas daily. Please remember to bring comfortable walking shoes.
The food, the wine and the outstanding gelato in Assisi all add so much to the experience. As our previous pilgrims can attest to, we will be stopping for gelato as often as possible!

Our program starts in Assisi, Monday, October 16th at 1:30PM and wraps up after breakfast on Thursday, October 26th.
There will be an optional wrap up group dinner Wednesday, October 25th at 7:30p.m.
Accomodations
Our four star hotel and beautiful retreat location is in the heart of Assisi at the ~ Giotto Hotel and Spa.
The entire pilgrimage will be based out of one hotel in order to minimize the busy pace of international travel.
If you choose to rent a car, the hotel charges 15,00 euro/day for parking.
Room Cost
To allow for different budgets and sleeping requirements we have booked a block with the following room selections. The allotment of rooms will be based on the order of the deposits received. A full breakfast is included with the cost of the rooms.
6 ~ Deluxe single room: € 115,00 per night per room (B&B);
2 ~ Deluxe twin room : € 160,00 per night per room (B&B);
4 ~ Deluxe double room: € 160,00 per night per room (B&B);
1 ~ Charme room: € 195,00 per night per room (B&B); (only 1 available)
2 ~ Charme superior room: € 225,00 (B&B) (only 2 available)
2 ~ Junior Suite: € 260,00 per room (B&B) (only 2 available)
Cancellation insurance is required. Due to the small size of our group the cost of this pilgrimage is non-refundable. If we have to cancel due to the pandemic we will refund you your deposit. Please get cancellation insurance for your flights. You may sell your spot to a third party who will also be required to take your hotel booking.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Optional add-on to our Assisi pilgrimage. Thursday, October 12th – Monday, October 16th, 2023
Ken and I will arrive in Rome, Thursday, October 12th, 2023.
We will be leaving our home in Calgary Wednesday, October 11th. If you are from Calgary and want to fly with us we are happy to have you join us.
Accomodations
If you would like to join us in Rome we can make a request for you to stay at our usual hotel. They gift us with pricing from our first visit in 2012 and we pass that on to our pilgrims. The location is excellent with all of the major attractions nearby. Breakfast is included in the cost of the hotel. You can walk to the Pantheon pictured below in two minutes. Our hotel in Rome fills up quickly. Please confirm early in 2023.
Visitation Sites
Friday, October 13th at 7:00pm. We will attend an evening at the Vatican.The crowds are smaller and the ambiance is incredible. This is a night open tour of the Museums and the Sistine Chapel with Happy Hour and a large assortment of appetizers at the Vatican Museums. There is also a possibility of live music at 8:00pm.
Saturday, October 14th at 8:30am Pick up by private car at our hotel and transported to the Four Ancient Papal Major Basilicas of Rome. There are only 4 Major Basilicas in the world – the highest ranking of all churches – and they are all in Rome. The Ancient Four Major Basilicas of Rome are the Basilica of St Peter, the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls, the Basilica of St Mary Major and the Arch-Basilica of St John Lateran. The highest rank of all of these is the Arch-Basilica of St John Lateran – the Cathedral of Rome – and thus the Mother Church of the entire world. Following in the steps of countless saints and pilgrims for centuries and millennia before you, we give you the chance to visit the official Four Papal Major Basilicas of Rome.
Sunday, October 15th, There is an Angelus/Papal Blessing at 12:00 p.m. in St. Peter’s Square
No tickets are required. Sunday is open for whatever you desire to do in Rome.
Monday, October 16th. Depart from our hotel at 10:00am with private drivers to Assisi, this cost is not included in the pilgrimage as some people go directly to Assisi on their own.
